Last night, I had the amazing opportunity to meet and interview Rachel Caine, author of the Morganville Vampire series. The event was held at the Astor Lounge in Mt. Lawley and was part of Rachel's Bite Club tour around Australia.
Rachel was so friendly and easy to talk to which made my first live interview much more relaxing than I thought it would be. Ask anyone who was around me leading up to the talk and they will tell you I was FREAKING OUT.
Throughout our chat we covered some non-spoilery topics in Bite Club, where the initial idea for Morganville came from, favourite characters, fantasy casting, fan-girl moments, Rachel's writing process and we were even treated to the first few pages of Last Breath which will be released in November.
After the talk, Rachel very graciously signed her books for the audience (with some people carrying all ten to the table) and had happy snap photos with fans, including me.
I personally had an excellent time and have no idea why I was so nervous to begin with. It was a pleasure meeting Rachel, Felicity from the Penguin Paranormal team and fellow Perth bloggers Marissa, Isme and Anna.
I would like to say a massive THANKYOU to Penguin for this opportunity.
My interview with Rachel will follow in a few days. For the time being, you can check out my reviews of the Morganville series...

I love Rachel Caine Books! Great giveaway. I couldn't make it to one of her events because I'm literally tied down at work, and usually don't go out of state much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me a chance to win!:)

Hmmm, I'm guessing this contest isn't open to Sydney residents seeing as it doesn't say so :(
ReplyDeleteI actually had no idea that Rachel was Down Under. I try to keep track of which authors are coming to Oz. I know Cassie Clare is, Kelley Armstrong and Maria V. Snyder are all travel here soon, but no idea about her.
Still, congrats on meeting her =D

ReplyDeleteI live in SA and couldn't make it because I honestly couldn't afford the trip to one of the places she was signing at.
It sounds like you had a good time at the event, she sounds like a really nice person!
